My overall framework to healing is Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence- based therapy that holds the premise that the way one thinks, feels, and acts is because of past experiences that taught them to do so. Within the EMDR lens, I utilize two main types of play therapy as a Registered Play Therapist™.

Theraplay® is an evidence- based practice that focuses on the attachment within the caregiver- child relationship. Kids learn who they are through their primary relationships in their lives. With one adult & one child, sessions involve a variety of structured games, engaging and challenging interactions, and nurturing moments to help caregivers understand their child's thoughts, feelings, & actions on a more intimate level. Caregivers are the experts of their children, so I expect that they will be taking what is done in session and start implementing activities, vocabulary strategies, and more into their home.

Gestalt Therapy is a holistic approach that works to increase awareness within oneself- without awareness, there cannot be a change. I use expressive arts such as sand tray, music, clay, drawing to support healthy integration of a person's whole self. In the therapy
