I'm the founder of Arizona Connections Play Therapy! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in the beautiful state of Arizona as well as an approved consultant for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am trained in a specific play therapy called Theraplay®, which is an evidence- based practice that focuses on the attachment within the caregiver- child relationship. Kids learn who they are through their primary relationships in their lives. With one adult and one child, sessions involve a variety of structured games, engaging and challenging interactions, and nurturing moments to help caregivers understand their child’s thoughts, feelings, and actions on a more intimate level. Caregivers are the experts of their children, so I expect that they will be taking what is done in session and start implementing activities, vocabulary, strategies, and more into their home. It is common that I also see siblings and facilitate family therapy as well see the parents in their own individual work. I am also trained in utilizing sand tray and Gestalt Therapy, and I incorporate this into clients of all ages who come to see me.

My overall framework to healing is EMDR, which is an evidence- based therapy that holds the premise that the way one thinks, feels, and acts is because of past experiences that taught them to do so. If requested, I am more than happy to integrate a Biblical, Christian perspective into our time together.
