My overall framework to healing is Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence- based therapy that holds the premise that the way one thinks, feels, and acts is because of past experiences that taught them to do so. Within the EMDR lens, I utilize two main types of play therapy as a Registered Play Therapist™: Theraplay® and Gestalt.

Theraplay® is an evidence- based practice that focuses on the attachment within the caregiver- child relationship. Kids learn who they are through their primary relationships in their lives. With one adult & one child, sessions involve a variety of structured games, engaging and challenging interactions, and nurturing moments to help caregivers understand their child's thoughts, feelings, & actions on a more intimate level. Caregivers are the experts of their children, so I expect that they will be taking what is done in session and start implementing activities, vocabulary strategies, and more into their home. It is common that I also see siblings and facilitate family therapy as well as see the moms for their own individual work (referring dads to Casey).

Gestalt is rooted in neuroscience and uses expressive arts such as sand tray, music, clay, drawing to support our children's healthy growth & development. In the therapy room, we honor the "I-Thou" relationship, which emphasizes genuine connection and mutuality between caregivers, their children, and myself.

If requested, I am more than happy to integrate a Biblical, Christian perspective into our time together.

I work with kids under 10 years old. I also work with preteens, teens, & adult women who want to address trauma utilizing EMDRspecifically. My office hours are Monday- Thursday afternoons & evenings. I can accept those whose primary insurances are Aetna, Cigna, and UHC. My cash rate is $160 per session, and I am able to provide a superbill that you can submit to insurance for out of network benefits. I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance.

On a personal level, I have been married since 2014, and we have three rescue dogs. I enjoy working out, board games ,& Pokémon battles, and I serve in my church's children ministry.
